Regular Visits

Dr. Parker Adams, Roanoke ChiropractorBy this time you will be an expert at the basic routine of getting ready to see the doctor. Each and every visit will encompass a thorough analysis of your spine with a heat-sensing instrument that will be glided down your back. This will help us keep track of your progress and allow you to get just the right amount of care—not too many adjustments, nor too few. During your visit, you may briefly share with the doctor how you feel your progress is coming or any other concerns you may have. After your adjustment, you’ll be ready to get your gear together and check out at the front with the staff. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and you can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes. Lets work together to build your health!

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
What causes subluxations?
Chiropractors acknowledge three types of stress: physical, chemical and emotional. When the adaptive capacity of your body is compromised, weakened areas along the spine can become involved. Muscles tighten, spinal joints lock up and nearby nerves are affected. The purpose of chiropractic care is to find these areas and restore balance, alignment and motion.
